Luncheon & Presentation: “Art and Humor-Based Coping for Caregivers”

Join Ari Kloke for a bit of serious comedy, art-based interventions, and a safe space for laughter and tears, as she colorfully shares from her personal art and photography exploration as a caregiver. This event is free and open to the public. Catered lunch provided at 12:30pm. Program begins at 1pm. Registration required.

Ari Kloke (she / hers) is a licensed clinical social worker and visual storyteller who has lived in Corvallis, Oregon, with her husband, Richard Campbell, PhD, since late 2021. Originally from the Los Angeles San Fernando Valley, she lived and worked in Germany for nearly 20 years before completing her MSW in Denver. Currently serving as a full-time mental health therapist in telehealth, her professional experience includes teaching German, Holocaust education, memory care, hospice and palliative care. Ari’s acrylic painting collection entitled “Art as GPS on Anticipatory Grief Journey” was featured at Salem’s Infinity Room during March of 2023, where she also presented her comedic teaching, “I Almost Died Laughing,” about utilizing art and humor in coping with caregiving and anticipatory grief. A life-long, avid participant in the therapeutic use of photography, Ari took her first pictures with a Kodak Disc camera during the 6th grade.
