This presentation on Caring for Dementia Over Time by Dr. Helen Kao of Lumina Hospice and Palliative Care is at the Albany Public Library and open to the public. The 2026 Dementia Series Community Lectures is a partnership of the Albany Public Library and Lumina. The community lectures are cost-free and all are welcome to attend.

At a Death Café, people - often strangers - gather to drink tea, enjoy snacks, and discuss death. Death Café in Downtown Albany meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from 7-8:30pm at The Chapter House Bookstore. Participation is free. Come join us! Drop-in, No RSVP is necessary.

A monthly meeting of fun, learning and healing for families with children and teens ages 4-18 who are grieving. Children and teens participate in age-specific groups and engage in creative activities that encourage discussion and expression of grief and loss. Parents and guardians participate in an adult group to learn more about how to support grieving children and teens. Must register and complete a brief questionnaire before attending.
