How physicians and EMTs interpret the orders

Free event on March 21, 2019

The Oregon Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) form has recently been updated. POLST is used to document medical decisions to be made in the event of a medical crisis in which you cannot speak for yourself. To learn more about these changes and how physicians and EMTs interpret the orders, join Drs. Helen Kao and Gabriel Ledger as well as Division Chief of Emergency Medical Services, Will Bauscher for a brown bag lecture hosted by Lumina Hospice & Palliative Care.

Helen Kao MD is Medical Director of Clinical Innovations at Lumina Hospice & Palliative Care and Professor of Geriatrics with University of California San Francisco.

Gabriel Ledger MD is an emergency physician, Medical Director of Community Outreach Incorporated, and the producer/director of the documentary short film, “The Rest of My Life: Stories of Trauma Survivors.”

Will Bauscher EMPA, EFO, LP is Division Chief of Emergency Medical Services with the Corvallis Fire Department.

This free presentation will be held on Thursday, March 21st from noon to 1:00 pm at the Walnut Community Room at the Scott Zimbrick Memorial Fire Station #5 (4950 NW Fair Oaks Drive in Corvallis). Beverages and cookies provided. Brown bag lunch is encouraged.
