Grief Support

Lumina provides bereavement support to anyone in the communities we serve who is impacted by death. Grieving is an important and necessary part of adjusting to and coping with a death.  Whether days, months or years later, many people find education, group support or counseling helpful. Almost everyone can benefit from some form of grief support. Lumina offers a variety of bereavement services.

  • Grief Education and Support Series

    Grief Education and Support Groups meet weekly for a day or evening session. Sessions are offered quarterly and run for eight weeks. Sessions include a presentation on topics such as changes experienced in bereavement and practical tips on coping with grief. The sessions also include discussion as participants share experiences and receive support from others. Read more >>
  • Family and Child Grief Support

    Lumina offers grief support not only to families of hospice patients, but also families and children in the community. Read more >>

  • Service of Remembrance & Light Up a Life

    The Service of Remembrance and Light Up a Life represents a time to celebrate life by attending our special annual service held in winter to honor and remember those people who have died, as well as support the mission of Lumina by remembering the people who have died with your donation to Lumina.     Explore ways to cope with grief through gentle movement. No experience needed. Held on various dates throughout the year from 9:00 am until noon at The Yoga Center Read more >>
